My cardboard drawer mockup sat on the counter for 11 days and then I finally cut it down to 8 inches
Honestly I built the first mockup at 12 inches deep because that is what the store drawer said, and it looked fine on my bench. Then I slid it into the actual cabinet opening and the front lip hit the door frame by about an inch and a half. I lived with that dumb box for 11 days telling myself I would fix it later. When I finally chopped it down to 8 inches and re-taped the joints, the whole thing slid in clean and the pull cleared the frame by a quarter inch. Ngl I almost built the real one at 12 inches and would have wasted a whole sheet of plywood. Anyone else ever let a cardboard mockup sit around way too long before actually trusting what it was telling you?

Cardboard is cheap, plywood is not, so trust the mock and measure twice.
