PSA: dropped $600 on a resume writer and it was the worst money I ever burned
I paid a service called TopResume about $600 back in January to rewrite my resume, and it came back sounding like a robot wrote it. Recruiters in Chicago told me twice that it read like a template, and one asked if a person had actually written it. I ended up redoing the whole thing myself using my old manager's notes for free. Has anyone actually gotten a job from a paid resume service, or is it all just a racket?
