Why does nobody tell you that taking a pay cut for a title bump can be a trap
A guy I used to carpool with in Phoenix took a $12,000 pay cut last year to go from associate to manager at a bigger firm. He said the title would open doors down the road, and his wife backed him on it. Half the people I know say that was smart long game stuff. The other half say never give up cash for a word on a business card because the next place just matches your old salary anyway. Where do you all land on this, take the title or take the money?
