Been using the wrong saw blade for years and just realized it
I always bought those cheap Diablo blades from Home Depot for my miter saw, thinking a blade is a blade. Then last week on a job in Cincinnati, I borrowed a buddy's Freud blade with like 80 teeth and the difference was night and day on some oak trim. Has anyone else had a similar moment where a simple upgrade made you feel kinda dumb for waiting so long?

a blade is a blade" yeah that was me for like three years straight. I used the same 40 tooth Diablo on everything from plywood to crown molding and wondered why my cuts looked like a beaver chewed them. When I finally picked up a proper 80 tooth Freud for finish work I felt like I'd been doing woodworking blindfolded the whole time. My buddy still laughs at me for trying to cut melamine with that old blade, the chipout was so bad it looked like I'd attacked it with a hammer.

The 80 tooth Freud was a game changer for me too, night and day difference.
