My neighbor Linda pointed out my spacing was inconsistent in a mockup I was proud of

I’ve been working on my graphic design portfolio for about 6 months now, trying to get it ready for freelance work. Last week I showed a mobile app mockup to my neighbor Linda, who runs a small print shop. She looked at it for about 10 seconds and said, “The gaps between those buttons are different sizes.” I zoomed in and she was right-one was 12 pixels and the others were 8 pixels. That small thing made me go back and check every spacing in my whole portfolio, and I fixed about 15 little errors. Has anyone else had a non-designer spot something that obvious that you just missed?

Ran to Northern Tool and grabbed their cheap house brand for $40 just to finish the job. That thing actually ran smoother and didnt vibrate my hands numb. Kinda shocked honestly. Anyone else had a cheap tool outwork a big brand name? Or did I just get lucky with this one?

Unpopular opinion: Terraforming Mars is way overhyped for what it is

I finally sat down and played Terraforming Mars with a group of 4 last Saturday. We spent nearly 4 hours on a game that honestly felt like it dragged through the last hour. Everyone else was raving about the engine building and card combos, but I kept checking the clock wondering when it would wrap up. I learned that for me, a game needs tighter pacing and more player interaction to hold my attention. The whole time I was thinking about how many other games we could have played in that same window. Has anyone else found a popular game that just didn't click for them after a proper try?

My neighbor's backyard studio flooded last month - check your drainage now

I was down in my workshop last Tuesday and heard water running, turns out my neighbor's DIY studio 2 doors down got 3 inches of water inside after that heavy rain. He had built it on a flat slab without any slope and the run-off from his roof just pooled right against the back wall. Cost him $1,200 to replace the MDF shelving and two cheap amps he stored on the floor. Has anyone else dealt with water intrusion from a poorly planned slab?
