It got really heated, and one person, Karen, actually stood up and said, "If you think that's good writing, you've never read a real book," before walking out. The rest of us just sat there in total quiet for a full minute. I tried to smooth things over by suggesting we all take a week to cool off and then pick a totally different genre for next time, like a calm historical fiction. It worked, but the group was never quite as big again. Has anyone else had a meeting blow up that badly over a character's actions?

Rant: My old tent's waterproofing gave out after only two seasons

I used my Big Agnes Copper Spur on maybe 15 trips total, and after the second year, it started leaking badly in a light rain at Starved Rock State Park. The difference was crazy, from bone dry to a real mess. I checked the seam tape and it was totally peeling off in big sections, which was the cause. I called the company and they said the tape can fail if you store the tent rolled up tight when it's damp (which I might have done once).
