Old trick I learned for cutting crown molding flat on a table saw

Been trimming houses for 12 years now. Crown molding always gave me fits until an old timer at the lumber yard showed me something. He said flip it upside down and lay it flat on the saw table. Use a simple jig you make from scrap wood to hold the angle. I tried it for the first time last fall on a McMansion in Naperville with like 300 feet of crown. Worked perfect first try, no more fighting it on the miter saw. Anyone else do their crown this way or am I late to the party?

Bruh you're definitely not late to the party, I think most of us just suffer through the miter saw struggle cause we're too stubborn to try something new lol. That old timer knew what was up though, flipping it flat on the table saw is a game changer for sure. Only downside is you gotta build the jig first, but once it's done it's basically cheating. I swear half the tricks in trim work come from some random old guy at a lumber yard who's been doing it since the 70s.
