Glue-down carpet bubbled up on a hot day in Houston
Last August I installed a glue-down carpet in a south-facing room and by 3 PM the whole thing was bubbling. Had to pull it all back up, let the floor cool, and re-stretch it with way more adhesive. Anyone else deal with heat causing adhesive failure in the summer?

Oh man, that glue-down bubble monster is the worst in direct sun. Did you use a pressure-sensitive adhesive or a full wet-set? In my experience the pressure-sensitive stuff softens way too much when the floor temp gets above 90, but your mileage may vary.

Yeah pressure sensitive all the way and it turned into a nightmare. That stuff just turns to goo when the sun hits it. My buddy tried the wet set on a south facing garage and his floor is still solid two years later zero bubbles. Lesson learned the hard way I guess.
