Why does nobody talk about how hand-stretching beats a power stretcher for tight spots? In my experience, it stopped a bubble that kept coming back on a stair job. Your mileage may vary.

What do you do when you're trying to stretch into a corner where a machine just won't fit? I read a forum thread where an old installer swore by using a knee kicker for the final lock in super tight areas, saying the control is way better than forcing it with a power head.

Hand-stretching is the real deal in a pinch. But man, you can't beat a knee kicker for that last little shove into a corner, right? Gives you that feel a machine never will.

Knee kickers are just a crutch for bad planning. A proper power stretcher with the right head gets into any corner if you know how to set it up. That "feel" people talk about is just guessing. Machines give you measured, even tension every single time. Relying on a knee kicker for the final lock means your initial stretch wasn't right. It's an old-school habit that leads to callbacks when the carpet relaxes.
