PSA: I burned $400 on a bench scraper set a salesman pushed on me at the Chicago restaurant show
Walked the floor at the National Restaurant Association show in Chicago two springs back and let a vendor talk me into a 6-piece "pro" scraper set for $400. Used two of them, once each. The rest sat in my roll bag until I gave them to a dishwasher who needed beer money. A $9 Dexter Russell from the restaurant supply on Randolph does the same job and I would not know the difference in a blind test. What is the dumbest thing a show floor rep ever sold you?
