Blew $340 on a camera system just to watch soot fly past the lens
Bought a cheap wireless camera setup last spring thinking I could show homeowners live footage of what's happening up the flue. Spent $340 on the kit plus another $60 on a mount I rigged to the brush rod. Problem is the soot cakes the lens within 30 seconds and the whole feed goes black. I've got maybe 12 minutes of usable footage total, and the picture was so grainy the homeowner asked if it was a thermal cam. Anyone running a GoPro or a borescope that actually survives creosote, or am I just eating this one?
