I used to think those flexible chimney liner brushes were just a gimmick.
Had a tough job in an old farmhouse near Salem with a really narrow, winding flue that my regular gear couldn't handle. I borrowed a friend's poly brush and it got the job done in under an hour, which changed my mind. Has anyone else had a good result with them on a specific type of flue?

Yeah, @ninat55 is right about them being a lifesaver for those old flues, they just save so much time and hassle on the weird ones.

Funny you should mention that. My old boss swore they were junk for years. We had a job on a historic property with a flue that had two nasty offsets. The rigid rods just would not make the turn. A flexible brush snaked right through and cleaned it perfectly. They are not the right tool for every job, but for those tricky old flues, they are a lifesaver. I keep one on the truck now for just that reason.
