That 'nobody cares about your process' shortcut actually landed me a $4k retainer

Everyone online says clients need to see wireframes and sketches to trust you, right? Well I stopped showing any of that and just sent a polished mockup straight to a real estate firm in Austin. They loved it, signed a contract in 3 days, and said they hated seeing the messy behind-the-scenes stuff anyway. Has anyone else skipped the process talk and gone straight to the finish line?
