inThe other day, I found an old client folder full of handwritten notes
You know that feeling when you flip through old handwritten pages and the ink smudges a bit? I totally get what you mean about missing that... there's a weight to paper that digital stuff just doesn't have. I found some client mood boards from years back, and the sticky notes and scribbles made the ideas feel more alive somehow. But yeah, trying to share those with a team across the country would have been a nightmare back then.

inSerious question, how do you cope when a design tool messes with your shortcut muscle memory?
Why do we all practice useless typing?

inI thought manual probing was a waste of time until I caught a major error.
You used to SKIP probing? That's wild. A major error could mean scrapping a whole part or wrecking a machine. The extra minute is absolutely nothing compared to that risk.

inA hallway seam that split fast has me arguing with myself over the reason
Man, that reminds me of my buddy's nightmare on a big office job. He swore he measured the hallway planks perfectly, but the stuff he used to stick them down just wasn't right for all that foot traffic. Saw it myself a month later, the seam had opened up enough to catch a shoe. He ended up redoing the whole section with a different adhesive and leaving a bigger gap.

inDAE find ribbon cables in point-and-shoots a total nightmare to handle?
See, I gotta disagree a bit... maybe I've just been lucky, but I never found them that bad. For me, the trick was to stop using tools on them at all. I just slide a fingernail under the connector latch and flip it up, then the cable slides right out. Trying to peel the cable itself first always seemed like asking for trouble. I dunno, adding a spudger in there just feels like more stuff to mess up.
