Unpopular take: 'quick revisions' from clients are actually a green flag, hear me out
Everyone posts horror stories about scope creep, but I had the opposite issue last fall in Portland. A client kept asking for what they called 'small tweaks' and each one took me 4 hours because they touched the whole asset library. I was furious at first, thinking they were clueless about effort. Then I realized they were the only client who actually reviewed my work within 48 hours and paid every invoice on time. Those 12 revision rounds took 3 weeks longer than the original timeline, but the final product was honestly better because they cared enough to push back. The real red flag isn't clients who ask for changes, it's clients who ghost you for 10 days and then dump 20 notes expecting overnight fixes. Has anyone else found that demanding clients can sometimes be more reliable than ones who nod along?
