My compost bin turned into a swamp and I finally get why people bury food scraps
Opened my bin on Saturday and it was a soggy mess, 2 inches of standing water, everything rotting instead of breaking down. A neighbor in Austin told me to bury my scraps straight in the garden bed instead, so I dug a trench and dumped a week's worth in, and now I'm wondering why I ever kept a bin at all. Anyone else ditch the bin for trench composting, and does it draw raccoons?
