TIL my backyard compost bin hit 140 degrees in 3 days after I stopped turning it
I'd been flipping that pile twice a week for months and it stayed cold and slow. Threw in a bag of coffee chaff from a shop in Portland and left it alone, and it cooked hotter than anything I'd managed by hand. Is there a downside to just letting it sit that I'm missing?
