Warning: I doubted community gardens could help climate change
I thought growing food was just a hobby with no real impact. Joining a local garden let me see how it cuts food miles and builds resilience. Have you found a local project that changed your mind?

Visited a city garden on a whim last spring and wow, it blew my mind. @ryananderson, I was totally like sam649, just thinking it was for show until I saw actual carrots and beans growing. Getting my hands dirty with the composting, lol, made me realize how much life happens in that soil. Now I'm swapping seeds with neighbors and actually looking forward to weeding. That shift from ignoring it to caring deeply took just one season of helping out. It's crazy how a patch of plants can change your whole view on community and food.

Local gardens? Thought they were just for show until I stumbled on a community plot. Seeing folks grow actual tomatoes changed my tune real fast. Now I'm arguing about compost like it's a big deal.
