Crossed 500 archived files and felt the opposite of relief

I finally hit 500 files in my organized archive folder yesterday, and I thought I'd feel great. Instead I just stared at the screen wondering why I kept any of them. Most are project versions from 2 years ago that I'll never open again, and my search tool finds the current stuff anyway. I cleaned out 300 last month but the number crept back up fast because I'm scared to delete anything. Has anyone else hit a milestone number that made them question their whole system instead of celebrating it?
