My folder naming went from chaos to calm after 3 years of 'final_v2'
I used to name client files stuff like 'logo_final_final_USE_THIS' and by 2024 I had over 40 versions of one project and no clue which was real. Then back in 2023 a designer in Columbus showed me her system: just date first, like '2024-03-12_client_brand', and I haven't lost a file since. Does anyone else sort by date first or do you go by project name?

Date first saved me too, but I add a short client tag at the end so I can still scan by name when the dates blur together. Something like 2024-03-12_brand_acme beats pure dates once you've got 40 folders in one month.
