Why does nobody talk about how bad cheap studio monitors actually are

Room treatment before buying monitors is the move nobody tells you about. Grabbed some used JBL 305s after my KRK experience and even those sounded way more honest once the room wasn't bouncing everything around. Mixing got way easier when I stopped chasing hyped up low end and just learned what flat speakers actually sound like in a dead space.

That $40 Hot Tent Stove Changed My Whole Setup

Betty's spot on with this one. I've been around hot tents long enough to know that cheap titanium is a false economy. Those budget stoves use thin gauge metal and sloppy welds that just can't handle a real hot fire all night. A canvas tent needs a lot of BTUs to stay warm, and pushing a cheap stove that hard is asking for trouble. I've personally seen a weld crack on a friend's stove mid trip and the whole thing started leaking smoke inside the tent. Not a fun night. Spend the money on a proven stove, it's basically insurance for your shelter.

My old boss called me out for lying on my resume in front of everyone

Read a career blog that said honesty saves you from having to remember your lies later.

Question about those magnetic paint additives for tools

Ive got a magnetic strip in my garage that holds exactly 47 wrenches right now because I bought a 5 pack not paying attention, and honestly I'm too scared to count how many tools are actually on it. My husband keeps adding more and im just waiting for the day it rips off the wall and takes out my kneecaps. At least if it fails itll be a funny story for the ER nurses.

I finally got the point of that 'one bag' thing after a month in Lisbon

Wait, isn't the whole life part the point though? @the_jenny I get what you're saying about just packing for the trip, but for me the switch clicked when I stopped seeing it as a trip and started seeing it as how I live now. It forces you to really own only what you actually use, not what you might maybe need someday. My 40 liter bag has everything I own, not just travel stuff, and that freedom from all that extra stuff is way better than I thought. Dragging that broken bag must have been awful, but getting down to one bag is more about that feeling of being light and ready for anything, not just the size.
