I finally found out my printer's magenta has a separate tiny tank from the regular one
Opened up the back of my Epson last week after a job came out looking like a faded watermelon and found this little hidden cartridge that only feeds the magenta. I've been running this thing for 2 years and never knew it was back there. Anyone else get blindsided by a random second tank on their setup?
Two years and the printer just quietly kept its little magenta secret the whole time. It's like finding a second wallet in your coat pocket, except this one costs 30 bucks to refill and holds about a thimble of ink. My old Canon had a print head I never knew about until it clogged and I spent an hour googling why my blues looked purple. These machines hide parts like they're embarrassed about them. At least now you know why the faded watermelon phase happened, and honestly that's a pretty accurate name for a bad print job.
