Just lost $60 on a pack of 'premium' inkjet photo paper that smeared every single print
So I finally decided to print some wedding photos for my mom's birthday last month and I grabbed this shiny pack of glossy inkjet paper at the store, 50 sheets for about $60 because the box said it was for high res photo printing. Got home, set my printer to the glossy photo setting, and every single print came out with these weird smears along the edges where the ink just sat there and never dried. I waited like two days thinking maybe it needed air, nope, still wet to the touch, and three of the sheets got stuck together when I stacked them. Turns out the coating on that particular paper doesn't play nice with dye based inks at all, which nobody at the store mentioned, and the return window was only 14 days so I ate the whole cost. I ended up going back for a different brand at about half the price and those came out perfect on the first try, which honestly made me feel even dumber for not testing the expensive stuff sooner. Has anyone else run into a paper that just refuses to hold ink no matter what settings you use, and is there a way to check compatibility before buying the box?
