The day a proof reader caught my orange BEFORE it hit the press

I ran a 1,200 poster run for a local brewery in Portland last month and their brand orange looked almost brown in the digital proof. The press guy stopped me and said, "you're looking at this on an RGB phone screen, right?" He was right, I'd been checking everything on my iPhone for weeks. The fix was simple, I pulled up the file on an old calibrated monitor I had in the back of my truck and the difference was night and day. Has anyone else gotten burned by checking proofs on a phone or laptop instead of a proper display?
