The Ritz-Carlton lobby made me double check my spot colors
Walked through the Ritz-Carlton in Boston last weekend and their brand gold was perfect on every stationery piece. Same gold on their soap boxes, the matchbook, even the little umbrella sleeves. Got curious and checked what Pantone they use, turns out it's a custom mix I never would have guessed. Anyone else ever see a brand's spot color out in the wild and immediately question your own setup?
Noticed this same thing with hotel pens, they all use the exact same blue. Makes you realize big brands treat color like a fingerprint, one shade off and your brain just knows something's wrong. Meanwhile I'm over here picking hex codes by eyeballing it.
