Vent: exported a flyer in RGB all week and only caught it on the proof, 40 pages in
Last Tuesday I ran a batch of 40 flyers for a church bake sale down in Akron and did the whole file in RGB without looking twice. On my screen the reds looked bright and the greens popped, so I just kept going. When the proof came back from the press guy, the strawberry jam photo looked brown and the grass in the background was straight gray. The press guy said my file had three inks where it should have been four on the test strip, and my deep red was sitting outside what his machine could even hit. It cost me $60 in ruined paper and a whole afternoon redoing the separations. I don't get it, how do you catch this before the proof stage when the screen always lies to you? What do you keep set up in your software so this doesn't happen again?
