The day my perfectly planned stone walkway turned into a mud pit
I was laying a flagstone path in my backyard in Portland, spent two days getting the base just right. The forecast said 20% chance of rain, so I figured I was safe. An hour after I finished setting the last stone, a downpour hit that wasn't on any radar. The whole thing just sank, like 3 inches in some spots, because the gravel base washed out. I stood there watching my weekend's work turn into a muddy river. Has anyone else had a weather forecast completely ruin an outdoor project like that? What do you do to really protect fresh work?
