I swore soft proofing was a waste of time until my last print run failed
I always thought soft proofing in Photoshop was just a gimmick for perfectionists. But last month I sent a batch of 200 business cards to Printful without checking the CMYK preview, and the neon green logo came out as a gross olive brown. Now I'm a believer lol. Has anyone else had a print disaster from ignoring soft proof that changed their workflow?

You ever mess up a print job so bad you still see the colors when you close your eyes? I did a run of postcards for a band once and the purple I picked on screen turned into straight up baby poop brown. The band manager was not thrilled. Now I soft proof everything twice and still don't trust it.

and that's exactly the kind of nightmare that keeps me up at night too. i had a run of 500 flyers for a local show where the neon pink turned into a dusty rose that looked like a bad 80s prom corsage. now i check the soft proof and then convert to CMYK manually before even sending anything to the printer.
