Had a crazy week where our old Haas VF2 just would not hold tolerance on a 500 piece aluminum job.
We spent three days chasing our tails, checking everything from the tool holders to the coolant mix, and my boss was ready to scrap the whole run. Turns out the drawbar force was way low, something we hadn't checked in over a year. What's the weirdest thing that's ever thrown off your machine's accuracy out of nowhere?

Man, that drawbar thing is a classic. Had a similar headache with our mill where the finish just went to crap overnight. Traced it back to a tiny bit of swarf packed into the spindle taper that nobody saw.

We had a brand new Okuma that kept putting a weird finish on stainless parts. The whole shop was losing their minds for a week. I felt like a total genius when I finally figured out the problem. The new guy had loaded the wrong style of wiper insert and nobody caught it. I spent three days blaming the machine parameters.
