Switched from carbide to HSS end mills for aluminum and never going back
I was using these cheap carbide bits from eBay for months and kept getting this weird chatter on thin walls. Then a old timer at the shop tossed me a $15 HSS end mill and said try this, and my finish went from garbage to glass-smooth in one pass. Anyone else found a tool swap that made a huge difference?

Idk man, I've run cheap carbide for years on thin walls and never had chatter that bad. Sounds more like a speeds and feeds issue than a tool problem tbh.

Honestly, it's really not that deep. People act like a little chatter is the end of the world when half the time you can just take a lighter pass and be fine.
