He told me at a beginner meetup in Denver back in March that starting with C would teach me how memory really works, so I spent 6 months on pointers and malloc instead of building anything fun. Now I can explain a stack frame but I still freeze up when someone asks me to make a simple web app, which feels backwards. Should new coders start low level to build strong basics, or just pick Python and start making stuff?
