Shoutout to the free 30-day bootcamp that taught me less in a month than one broken script taught me in an afternoon
Everyone keeps saying you have to finish a structured course before you touch real code, and I flat out disagree. Back in March I paid zero dollars for one of those free 30-day bootcamps, watched 40 hours of video, and felt like I knew nothing. Then a week later I tried to automate renaming about 300 photos from a trip to Portland, and my little Python script wiped half of them into a folder I could not find. I panicked, opened the docs, read the os module page for the first time for real, and fixed it in maybe two hours. That one mess taught me file paths and error handling better than a whole course did. So when people ask me where to start, I tell them to break something small on purpose. What was the first thing you broke while learning, and did it teach you more than the tutorials?
