Hit 40 bags of beans in my log book since March 1st and half of them were decaf
I started keeping a notebook on March 1st of every bag of beans I brew at home, mostly because my wife kept asking why the counter was always covered in bags. At first I was just writing the roast date and a number out of 10 next to the name. Then I started adding little notes like grind setting, water temp, and how many days off roast I drank it. Yesterday I counted and I'm at 40 bags in about 5 months, and 19 of them were decaf. I did not plan that at all, I just drink a lot of coffee after 6pm and my sleep was getting wrecked. The weird part is the decaf notes are way more useful now, since decaf beans seem to go stale faster at my house. Does anyone else keep a brew log, and do you track off-roast days or just the score?
