Switched to a gooseneck kettle last month - total game changer

Used to just dump water from a regular kettle onto my grounds. Uneven extraction every time. Got a $30 gooseneck from Amazon and my morning cup in Chicago tastes way cleaner now. Anyone else notice a big difference with pour over technique?

My roommate tried mine once and just poured the water straight from a measuring cup instead. Said it tasted the same. I still haven't forgiven him.
