The barista in Portland who asked me one question about my order and it stuck with me for a year
I was at a small shop on Alberta St in Portland about a year ago and ordered my usual dark roast, and the barista asked me if I had ever tried it as a pour over instead of drip. I shrugged and said sure, and she made it right there, handing me the cup with a note that listed the farm and the roast date on it. I sat down and took a sip and realized I had been drinking coffee the same boring way for almost 8 years without ever asking why. She just smiled and said most people never ask, they just order the same thing forever. Has anyone else had a barista push them out of their routine like that, and what did you end up switching to?
