A hardware store clerk pointed out my website text was blue on blue back in 2012.
He squinted at my phone screen while waiting for a paint mix and said 'I can't read that, son, the colors just blend together' and that's the day I learned about contrast ratios the hard way, has anyone else had a stranger call out their bad color choices?

Oh man, was it actually helpful or just embarrassing in the moment? I had a barista once poke her head over my shoulder and go "I literally cannot see the buttons on your checkout page" which prompted a very awkward redesign session at the coffee shop counter. It stings at first but honestly those random strangers save you from way worse feedback later (especially when you're just starting out and don't know what you're doing yet).

Oh man, the barista thing is legendary lmao. I had a woman in line at a grocery store once grab my phone out of my hand and go "this font is making me nauseous" and then she just... walked away. Like it was her civic duty or something lol. But honestly she was right, I changed it that night and never looked back. Random strangers are basically unpaid UX consultants with zero filter.
