I finally understood why my old neighbor in Tucson always asked me the same thing every morning.

Look at how easy it is to miss the point of a simple question. We get so stuck in our own heads that a kind gesture just feels like noise. It takes real humility to realize you were the one not listening.

My neighbor's comment about my old drill made me switch tools for good

Oh man, the battery switch was a whole thing. I spent more time hunting for my one charged battery than actually cutting wood. I'd get all set up in the garage, pull the trigger, and get that sad little click. Then it's back inside to rummage through the kitchen junk drawer hoping it's done charging. What's your record for most trips back to the house on one project?

Vent: My agency tried cold email for 6 months, then switched to just doing free audits

Hold up, you sent 500 emails a week for six months? That's a crazy amount of work for almost no return. I get that the audit thing worked better, but is doing free work for everyone really a plan? Feels like you just swapped one grind for another. What happens when you get too many audit requests and no one pays?

Question about a new way to prep for extractions I saw at a trade show

Cold rollers just remind me of rolling out pizza dough.

TIL I was crowding my air fryer basket and that's why my fries were soggy

My old Philips air fryer actually works better when I fill the basket about two-thirds full. It seems to trap the heat and circulate it more like a convection oven. I get crispier fries that way compared to when I do a single layer. Maybe it depends on the model and how strong the fan is.
