Had a colorblind friend point out my app was unreadable at a coffee shop

I was showing off my new dashboard design on my laptop and he just squinted and said 'what am I looking at here?' Turned out my green on red status indicators looked identical to him. Anyone else ever had a colorblind tester catch something obvious you missed?

Yeah that green/red thing is brutal for colorblind folks. I read like 8% of men have some form of it so it's way more common than people realize. Swapped my status indicators to use shapes and icons on top of color after hearing that.

Same here, swapped my dashboard lights for symbols and it made a huge difference for me.
