That high contrast mode feature I ignored for years actually saved my eyes

Been designing websites since 2016. Always thought those accessibility features were for other people. Then I hit 30 and my eyes started hurting after 8 hours staring at screens. A friend at a meetup in Denver showed me how to toggle high contrast mode in the browser. Used it for a week straight. Made a huge difference on low quality monitors. Now I check my designs in it before shipping. Anyone else have a tool they brushed off that ended up being useful?

I accidentally turned on voice control on my phone about two years ago. Couldn't figure out why Siri kept popping up every time I said the word "um" in a conversation. My friend laughed at me for like ten minutes before showing me how to turn it off. But after that I actually tried using it for real, and now I dictate half my texts and notes when my wrists are sore from typing. Feels weird talking to your phone in public though. Not sure if that counts as accessibility but it definitely helped me out in a way I never expected.

Accidentally swiped to change my screen color temp once. Game changer for late night browsing.

Blue light filter is worth its weight in gold after dark. Makes a huge difference for winding down.
