A bad week with blues taught me to test palettes in real light

Last Tuesday I was so sure a navy and teal combo was perfect for a client's website. I picked the colors on my monitor and liked them until I saw the design on my phone outside during lunch. The blues turned into a muddy gray and the teal looked greenish. It made me realize I need to test every palette in at least three different lighting conditions before signing off. Has anyone else had a color look totally different on a phone screen versus a monitor?

Actually it's "teal" not "teal" but yeah phone screens mess with colors bad.

Yeah but honestly I think people put way too much stock in how colors look on a phone. Monitors are calibrated all different too so it's not like one is more "real" than the other. @the_ray might be onto something about teal being tricky but a muddy gray screen is a muddy gray screen regardless.
