I made a 6 color palette in grayscale first and my client picked the dingiest one, now I do color first
Last month I built a whole palette in grayscale for a bakery in Toledo, thinking it would keep me from leaning on color too much, and the owner pointed at the darkest gray swatch and said that was her brand. Everything I read says start with value, but it backfired on me because she could not picture the grays turning into warm bread tones at all. Has anyone else had better luck showing a rough color version first and only checking value after?
