Stared at paint swatches so long they all started to look brown.

This was for a client project with a short timeline. How do you reset your eyes when this happens?

Stared at paint swatches so long" - is it really that deep? You look at colors until your brain gets tired, it's not a medical crisis. @zara_jones with the carpet samples, same basic thing. Just walk away for twenty minutes. Look at a blank wall or some trees out a window. Your eyes don't need a "reset," they just need a break from you overthinking beige versus taupe. Come back and the colors will look normal again.

Overthinking beige versus taupe" is the real problem. It's just paint.

Ngl, staring at carpet samples did the same thing to me once.

Yeah, but it's not just overthinking... your eyes actually get tired from focusing on tiny differences for so long. It's like a muscle that needs a real break, not just a different thought. Looking at something far away helps because it uses your eyes differently. That's why a blank wall or some trees fixes it better than just walking away.
