That designer told me to use a 70/20/10 split for my palette and I thought it was too simple

My coworker insisted on it for a client presentation last month, and after I tried it the whole layout actually popped without looking cluttered, anyone else stubbornly ignore that rule at first?

So did it actually simplify your workflow or just make things look better?

Both actually. The 70% base color made the 20% and 10% pop way more than my usual 50/30/20 approach ever did, plus it cut down how much I second-guessed myself mid-project.
