I just hit 50 client projects using the same three-color palette
I always thought you needed a huge range of colors, but sticking to a strict triad scheme for a year forced me to get creative with value and saturation instead. It made my work feel way more cohesive, and my last branding package got approved in one round. Anyone else try limiting their palette for a set number of projects?

My buddy, a graphic designer, did something similar for six months. He got so good with just two main colors and a neutral that his work started getting noticed for its clarity, not its color range. A local brewery loved how his limited palette made their can designs look bold and easy to read on a crowded shelf. He said it stopped clients from getting distracted by minor color tweaks and focused the conversation on the actual message. It really changed how he sees a new project now.

Sounds super limiting to me. Clients usually want something unique, not the same three colors every time.

Actually, it forces more creativity with layout and texture. You get unique results without a chaotic color palette. That constraint is the whole point.
