Shoutout to the paint guy at the hardware store in Tulsa who showed me why my gray kept reading green
I was picking up a quart of gray for my kitchen cabinets and the guy behind the counter asked what light the room gets. I told him it's got a big east window and he pulled two grays off the shelf that looked the same to me, then set them side by side on the counter. One went warm and muddy, the other stayed cool and clean, and he said the first one had a touch of green hiding in it that only shows up under daylight. I painted both on a scrap board and taped it to the wall for a day, and he was dead right. Anyone else got a shortcut for spotting the undertone before you buy the whole gallon?
