Just learned the original London Tube map was a nightmare for colorblind folks
Found a 1995 study that said the old color scheme made 8% of users miss their stop. Has anyone else found old designs that are surprisingly bad now?

Wow, that's wild but totally makes sense. I got stuck on an old highway map once where the exit numbers were just tiny red dots on a green background, completely invisible to me. Ended up driving like 20 miles out of the way. Makes you realize how much we just accepted bad design back then.

Yeah the "accepted bad design" thing hits hard. I remember my grandma's old microwave had the timer buttons worn completely smooth from use, just blank beige squares. We'd all just guess and hope the popcorn didn't burn.

That "accepted bad design" line is perfect. I read about old traffic lights where the red and green looked the same if you were colorblind. They just expected you to know the top light meant stop. How was that ever okay? We put up with so much nonsense before someone finally pointed it out.
