One reader's comment about my pull list totally rewired how I buy comics
I used to just grab every #1 issue that looked cool at my shop in Austin, ended up with stacks of books I never finished. Last week a guy behind the counter said 'you're buying first issues like they're lottery tickets, not stories' and honestly it stung because he was right. Now I wait for a trade or read three issues in the shop before committing, and my monthly spending dropped from like $80 to maybe $35. Anyone else ever get a reality check from a shop employee or another fan that actually improved their collecting habits?
