Bought an old Kirby Morgan band mask for $200... it cost me double that in headaches
Found it at a pawn shop in Houston and thought I got a steal, but the exhaust valve was seized and the oral seal dried out on 3 dives before I figured it out. Anyone else ever get burned trying to save money on used gear?

Honestly, my old regator seal kit turned into a project that took twice as long as any dive I planned.

My 1980s Scubapro Mark V still seals fine after thirty years with nothing but a quick lube and o-ring swap. @josephs26, I'd bet good money that old regator kit turned into a project because you cracked a plastic part or lost a tiny spring in the grass. Most folks are way too quick to rebuild a perfectly good regulator just because a calendar says it's time. All that extra work could've been spent diving instead of cussing at a workbench.
