Cut my surface swim time in half by clipping a $12 dive light to my harness before I ever get wet
Been working a pipeline job off Galveston and we kept burning time on the surface trying to spot the tie-in points from up top. Last week I started clipping a cheap backup light to my harness and pulsing it at the water before I splash, which sounds dumb but the reflection off the sediment tells me the bottom contours before I drop a single foot. Cut my descent setup from about 8 minutes down to 4 on the last three dives. Anyone else using light tricks for pre-dive recon, or am I the only one down here doing this?
