inShowerthought: Dubbed vs Subbed debate at my anime club got WAY out of hand
2 years ago I said I preferred the English dub of Cowboy Bebop and my best friend didn't talk to me for three months. We finally made up when I admitted I only said it to annoy him and I actually watch everything subbed.

inThat old arborist in Portland made me eat my words on topping trees
Used to think topping was fine until a neighbor's topped maple dropped a huge branch on his shed. Seeing that mess up close made me switch to reduction cuts real quick.

inMy friend's mom in Seattle totally changed how I see pockets
Wait, didn't @bailey.xena say pockets are a basic human right? That kinda changed my thinking too. I used to just throw on fake pocket flaps for the look, but now I get why that's useless.

inVent: That talk with a framebuilder made me question my torque wrench habits
That Portland guy's been lucky more than skilled, 20 years of feel doesn't account for the huge variance in carbon layups and clamping designs from different manufacturers. A torque wrench eliminates guesswork and provides a consistent, repeatable baseline that's been tested by engineers, not just some dude's thumb. The cracked posts you see are almost always from people ignoring the spec entirely or using a cheap, uncalibrated wrench, not from following the numbers properly.

inTried a 000 blade on my clippers yesterday vs my usual 0000
Yeah my buddy Mike tried a 000 on his Merkur after using 0000 for years, same thing happened to him down in Houston last summer. He said he finally stopped getting those little nicks on his neck, but the first time he did it he went way too fast and looked like he lost a fight with a weed whacker.
