Had a hose fitting blow on me at 60 feet off Fort Pierce last Tuesday
I used to swear by those brass quick-connects for my air supply. Always figured they were solid and couldn't fail. Well, last Tuesday off Fort Pierce, one of them just let go around 60 feet down. Water started seeping into my helmet before I even knew what hit me. I grabbed my bailout bottle and signaled my tender right away, got hauled up slow. My buddy Dave on the boat chewed me out after for not using the locking collars instead. Now I'm swapping every single fitting on my rig over to the screw-on type. Any of you had a failure with those quick-connects before?
